Laraine Spector

Laraine Spector is a principal at the Midway Strategy Group, a business and marketing consultancy offering strategic marketing solutions, tactical programs, and research to marketers. In this role, Laraine is responsible for new business development and leads the group’s efforts in aiding clients in market, product, and brand strategy development. Prior to helping found Midway, she spent 12 years specializing in strategic thinking, branding, customer relationship management, direct and database marketing, and modeling and statistical analysis at such firms as American Hospital Supply, Citicorp Diners Club, RR Donnelly/Metromail, and Campbell-Ewald Advertising. Laraine holds a BA in history and political science and has graduate degrees from the University of Michigan and the University of Chicago. She attended Chicago’s Graduate School of Business where she specialized in marketing and business strategy. She also studied at the Sorbonne and speaks fluent French. She has held leadership positions for Women in Direct Marketing and the American Marketing Association.

A frequent speaker on the marketing conference circuit, Laraine speaks on value migration, experiential and relationship marketing, and creating corporate market leadership strategies. In 2003 and 2004, she was a speaker at the Chicago Association of Direct Marketing’s DM Days Conference and the National Consumer Database Marketing Conference (NCDM) in Long Beach, California. She is an editor of the Virtual Strategist, an online business periodical.
